There are many opportunities to volunteer for the TREE Fund’s Tour des Trees. These include:

1. Transporting riders and their bikes to and from the airport

2. Transporting bike boxes and extra luggage from the starting point to the final destination

3. Marking route directions on roadways in advance of the riders
 
4. Tree planting/mulching events always need help with:
  • site selection, usually a public park
  • arranging an audience consisting of children, senior citizens, a garden club or any other local club or group
  • help with contacting local media for news coverage
  • hanging of banners or signs
  • provision for shade or protection from rain
  • PA system, podium and chairs for dignitaries if necessary
  • hole digging
  • shovels, water and mulch
  • Most importantly, the donation of a healthy, appropriate tree for the site!!
5. Educational presentations like Tim Womick’s Trail of Trees always need help with:  
  • site selection, could be a public library, YMCA or Scouting camps, summer day camp programs, wholesale tree nurseries, etc.
  • arranging for an audience, usually children, but it can also be a garden club, senior citizens or any other local club or group
  • hanging banners or signs
  • PA system, podium and chairs if necessary
  • provision for shade or protection from rain, if outdoors
  • help with contacting local media for news coverage
  6. Become a part of the “Welcoming Committee” at meals and snack breaks along the Tour  
  • cheer riders as the enter and leave the meal or snack area
  • help distribute food and beverages to the riders
